|Gillian West, E-RYT 200, TIYT, YACEP has been teaching yoga in Austin for five years. Recently named one of Austin’s top yoga instructors for 2018, she loves helping others find their maximum potential physically and mentally. Using humor, intention setting, & intelligent sequencing you can expect to get a full body practice & leave ready to kick ass & take names for the rest of your day.
Gillian has used movement as a way to move through life since she was a kid. From classical ballet for 12 years, to competitive ballroom dancing, to burlesque – physical movement to help with the mind has always been in her back pocket. As a trauma survivor & recovered addict Gillian found yoga originally as a way to cope with anxiety. Once she saw the benefits of yoga she dedicated her life to helping others in the same way. Becoming a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Gillian helps others navigate the effects trauma can have on the body & works with mental healthcare professionals to help clients get back in touch with themselves.
Originally trained at CorePower Yoga in October of 2013, Gillian has completely multiple 200-hours in different styles of yoga. From Hatha, to Vinyasa, to strength training & bootcamp she can give you exactly what you’re looking for. In October of 2015 she completed her training with Sundara Yoga Therapy to become a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher. Her style most recently has been influenced by Carmen Aguilar, creator of Cyoga, after attending multiple continuing education workshops in advanced sequencing & assisting.
When she’s not teaching she spends most of her time with her goldendoodle, Leroy, & boyfriend Dan – or she’s pretending like she knows how to bake after watching one too many episodes of Great British Bake Off.

With the windows open, you’ll be guided through your asana practice by the sound of the waves crashing, the hint of saltwater in the air and the cool ocean breeze gently passing through the practice space.
Our morning classes will be faster paced and more physically demanding where the evening classes will tend to be more restorative with the intention of preparing the body and mind for a night of restful sleep.
The yoga shala at Amansala will also provide the perfect backdrop for photo sessions with Alex where you’ll have the opportunity to bring home incredible memories from the retreat!

Yes! Once you pay the deposit to secure your spot on the retreat, we will reach out to discuss a payment schedule for the remaining balance. Our goal is to make our retreats accessible for everyone so whatever we can do to help ease the financial strain of booking a retreat, we will do our best to accommodate.
Yes! Once the deposit is paid, we will reach out to talk about potential roommate preferences and do our best to accommodate. If you have any additional questions/concerns, drop us an email: info@LikeOmRetreats.com
Voltage and outlet type do vary by country and may be different than what we have in the US. Consult this site for a country by country reference on power: Plug, socket, & voltage by country
You’re more than welcome to bring your own mat and/or favorite yoga props! The retreat center is fully stocked with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets that we’ll be using throughout our retreat.
Generally speaking, yes – the retreat centers that we work with are accustomed to accommodating a wide range of food allergies and dietary preferences. If you have any doubts or would like to double-check, please write us at: info@LikeOmRetreats.com
We understand that life happens and things don’t always go as planned. You can find the retreat-specific cancellation policy listed in the “Book a Room” tab of each retreat. Beyond that, we’ll do our best to find a solution that works for everyone. Generally speaking, if you (or we) are able to fill your spot, you’ll get most if not all of your money refunded so let us know as early as possible.
As much as we’d like to have a single blanket policy, each retreat center has its own policy regarding cancellations, unfilled rooms, and our payment schedule to them. As we near the retreat start date, chances are all rooms have been fully paid for and it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to get any of that money back. We’re not out to take anyone’s money so if the response is that we’re not able to give you a refund, it’s because the decision is out of our hands.
Bottom line with cancellations – we understand and want to help so the sooner you can let us know, the more options we’ll be able to work with.
You can pay directly on the site using PayPal, Venmo, or any major credit card (via the PayPal Guest Checkout).
If you prefer another method of payment (for example ApplePay, Zelle, or personal check), please CONTACT ME and we’ll get that set up for you!
We recommend checking with your provider. Most plans require purchasing an additional international plan for cellular data before your trip—cost varies depending on provider. You can also turn off your cellular data altogether and use your phone through Wifi. If you have an iPhone, you can still send iMessages and make internet voice calls to other iPhone users. With any smart phone, you can download apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Skype to be able to talk, video chat, and text over a Wifi. I definitely recommend downloading these apps before your trip if you plan on using them just in case internet is slow upon arrival. Another option (for those that have ‘unlocked’ phones) is to buy a prepaid SIM card in the airport.
